Local Business Reporting was conceived in late 2006,
and began organizing in September 2007. We went live
online early October 2007. It was conceived as a way to
put customers in touch with trustworthy contractors but
quickly expanded to all service driven industries. To find
out a more detailed explanation of our business
practices, see our services page.
It is our mission to provide the public
reliable information about our
members qualifications, providing local
businesses with an advertising and
business management tool unlike any
other found today.

What Kind of business are we?
That's actually a complex question, because we are unlike
any one or even two business types today. In fact, we are
unlike any other business in all of the United States. We are
best explained as a combination of several types of
businesses.
A Consumer Reporting Agency
Since we are compiling reports of local businesses as
reported by the local community we could be categorized as a
consumer reporting agency.
A Business Reporting Agency
All of our reports are directed towards our members business
and the service they provide, not the products or
merchandise they may use.
A Business Association
Like a business association, we have strict standards on who
can become a member. Those companies will remain a
trusted member for as long as they choose or until they
become untrustworthy. If any member is accused of an
unethical or deceptive act it will be investigated. It is one of
our goals to protect good businesses while making it harder
for unscrupulous companies to remain in business.
A Public Service Organization
After hearing too many heart breaking stories of families
shelling out a lot of money (sometime their life savings) to
have some work completed around their homes, then it
happened to someone in our family. Our company was then
conceived of as an easy way to help the local community to
find quality service providers that would fulfill all of their needs.
An Advertising Agency
As a way to help all trustworthy businesses compete for
market share, we keep our membership fees as low as
possible and combine the fees from all our members to
advertise. Since we are charging the same to all of our
members regardless of how big or small they are and
advertising all of our members equally on our site, we could
even be called a unique advertising agency.
All these things combine to form a company that aids
and protects the local community, protects and
promotes honest business, and makes it easy for the
two to find each other.
